Welcome to the Official Home Page of the Nassau County Firefighters Pipes and Drums

The Band deeply regrets to announce the passing of former band member Robert Priest. Rob was an extremely talented Piper, who began playing at a relatively young age. Rob loved playing the pipes and took the lead for the tune "Steamtrain to Mallaig" on our CD, always giving his best to the band no matter what the event. He found a new love when he joined the East Meadow Fire Department where he quickly rose to the rank of Liuetenant of his Engine Company. Rob was planning on returning to the band in the near future and his untimely passing is a great loss to everyone who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Priest family at this difficult time. Rest in Peace Brother.

while promoting Irish music and culture. Too many bands get too serious and lose site of why they started playing in the first place...For the love of the music and to have fun! ! !  Here is an article to Why Bagpipes are played at Fire & Police Department Funerals.
